[ While Megumi is always happy to lend a listening ear, there's this sense of ... him becoming more tired, as he listens to this. This is the sort of drama he has no experience with. Even before becoming a sorcerer, Megumi was always deficit in the 'friends' department, and it never bothered him. He never had to deal with anything like this and he's grateful for that. It sounds like stress that is caused for no reason at all. ]

Oh ... [ Yeah, he's not equipped for this situation. He thinks this drama is stupid and is trying not to let that show, because Akira looks clearly affected by it. ]

How much do you care about what they think about you?

Should he tell Megumi what happened between him and Denji before all of this happened? ]}

I really appreciate Denji-kun’s friendship.. I don’t think I’ve ever had a guy friend I could talk to about all sorts of shit.

And Aurora.. I only just met her but I wish I would have made a better impression on her since she’s so sweet.

[ Wow, Megumi is a 'guy friend'? But he knows he's not approachable in many ways, so he understands if there are things Akira doesn't want to talk to him about.

Since Akira does care about those relationships, then Megumi will give him advice on how to save them. If he didn't care that much, he would just advise he let things go. He's never been an advocate for trying to get along with everyone. Sometimes you just can't. ]

They are angry right now, so give them time to cool down. After that, the only thing you can do is explain yourself and apologise to Denji-san.

I don't understand why Aurora-san is angry at you too, though.

_{[ the biggest and most dramatic sigh and Akira shifts, settling his head in Megumi’s lap whether he wants it or not. His eyes warily look up at the other teenager. ]}

Yeah. I hate saying I’m wrong, but I know it’s the right thing to do so I will.

She’s probably upset cause I stopped talking to her suddenly. I don’t know. I don’t understand girls, no matter how hot they are.

[ The sudden head plopped on his lap does take him by surprise, but beyond tensing up briefly, Megumi sighs and allows it. If he were doing this just for fun or to tease Megumi, he would push him off. He needs some actual reassurance right now, so Megumi decides to give it to him. ]

I don't think women are very different from men. [ Not the women he is used to, at least. ]

Why did you stop talking to her?

Because.. she was flirting with me, whether she was intending to or not.. and Denji-kun said she was off limits, so I was just honoring his request.

I guess just stopping talking to her was a little drastic, huh?

I can see why knowingly flirting with the girl your friend likes is a bad thing to do.

[ But as Akira guessed, he does find it rather drastic to start avoiding that girl altogether. ]

Denji-san really said she was off-limits? [ That sounds a bit controlling of him? But Megumi ... uh ... doesn't care about this teen drama enough to form any heated opinion on who's in the right and wrong. ]

Yeah.. but then that made her realize that Denji-kun likes her, so she rejected him and his heart wasn’t ready. It’s my fault. I don’t blame them for being mad at me I guess.. I just didn’t think it was going to cause a problem.

_{[ Akira turns his head slightly to better look at Megumi. He’s quite pretty from this angle— his lashes look a lot bigger from this position. ]}

Megumi-kun, I think I am figuring myself out a little better. It’s been hard with the demon’s influence, though.

[ From Akira's explanation, it sounds like he meant well but the situation got out of hand. Whether or not it's the full picture, he doesn't know, but everyone else seems to be acting way more dramatic about things than he would have personally. Then again, this is probably how most teenagers act. He remembers hearing about a lot of stupid drama in middle school. ]
